Dr. Kenneth C. Ulmer has pastored Faithful Central Bible Church in Inglewood, California, for the past 15 years. During that time, the congregation has grown from 350 to more than 8,000.
After accepting his call to the ministry, Dr. Ulmer was ordained at Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, Los Angeles, in 1977 and founded Macedonia Bible Baptist Church, San Pedro, in 1979. In 1982, he was called to Faithful Central Missionary Baptist Church. He has served as instructor in Pastoral Ministry and Homiletics at Grace Theological Seminary, of African American Preaching at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, and adjunct professor at Biola and Pepperdine Universities. He is currently a mentor in the doctor of ministry degree program at United Theological Seminary in Dayton. In 2000, Dr. Ulmer was installed as the Presiding Bishop over the Macedonia International Bible Fellowship, representing Zimbabwe, Namibia, England, Republic of the Congo, South Africa and the United States.
Dr. Ulmerís distinguished academic history includes graduate studies at Pepperdine University, Hebrew Union College and the University of Judaism, a doctor of philosophy degree from Grace Graduate School of Theology and a doctor of ministry degree from United Theological Seminary. He also studied Ecumenical Liturgy and Worship at Magdalene College at Oxford University.
Dr. Ulmer and his wife, Togetta, reside in Los Angeles and have one son, two daughters and one granddaughter.
